- tough as dirt leather

Why the long toe thong, you say?  When you lengthen the toe thong of a flip flop you position what we like to call the "fulcrum", the place at which the straps meet and flex, closer to the arch of the foot.  By doing this you decrease a large amount of flop and tighten the straps around the center of your foot, reducing the amount of work your toes experience. The result is a more snug fit, relaxed muscles of the arch, and a real A+100 for people who like great flip flops.

Shower with a friend! Got Dirt Problems? Cooks flops are ready to be shower friendly and are happy to be scrubbed with an old tooth brush. Freshen that strap liner up, scrub that thong.  Mud and Marsh approved. Don't fret about getting that leather muddy or wet. This tough as dirt leather will look amazing with time.

More on that custom Zig Zag liner.   A tribute to our old handmade flops we put together in the barn using a 1960"s Alphasew ZigZag machine.  We love that look so much so we refined it and rolled with it.  The straps are lengths cut from cotton and Jute rolls run through a zigzag machine creating a strong and organic seamless strap which is then sewn to leather. Soft and durable, these straps become bomb proof when backed with leather.

Comfort and durability

These are the only flip flops I’ve been wearing for the last several years. The fit is incredible and they are super comfortable. I’ve gone through a few pairs over the last 5+ years, and the durability is awesome. I regularly put them through wear and tear at the beach, on the boat, in the mountains, and all over.

So far, so good

Used to wear Quicksilver flops, but they have very few leather options, and was looking for something more local anyhow. Was pleased to discover these, made by garage tinkerers that came up with the kind of products would have loved to create for myself. The flops are good, so far, though the side straps rub a bit, expect this will soften up over time. The style is very similar to sandals have seen made in India, with the longer toe and higher strap, doesn’t take long to get used to. Would like to order another pair, but the price point is a little steep for these, suggest offering a discount when ordering more than one at a time, also given these are manufactured in Mexico. Of course, good quality always costs more, and am not attempting to cheapen their value, they’re good, will definitely buy more if am still allowed to, after this review, if it doesn’t offend their makers. My only design suggestion would be to offer a hunting sole with a lot more grip, for hiking along rocks, dirt trails, etc. Thanks for creating these, much appreciated!

Lovin' my new Dirty Copper flops!

Local SC guy and only learned about Cook's Flops a month ago. Currently breaking in my first two pair, and I love them! Very comfortable overall, and I like the longer toe strap.
